Review of Brea Spring Craft Boutique & Wistaria Festival

The city of Brea held its 13^th annual Spring Craft Boutique at the Brea community center.  This show is truly a craft show with a country sort of feel, featuring around 270 vendors, selling clothes, stationary, children’s toys, knitting, holiday decorations, flower arrangements, purses, lotions, candles, woodworking, food, and, of course, jewelry…

This was my first time doing this show, and it appears that it has a good following.  Most of the crafters I talked to were old-timers at the show.  They did say it was very slow this year but they plan on coming back as it has been a good show for them – promising-.

 Sierra Madre held its 2011 Wisteria Festival on Sunday March 20^th.  The town is a quaint upscale neighborhood with tree-lined streets, majestic foothills and artsy stores.  This show has everything going for it except one thing, the weather – kind of major- Needless to say, it rained & poured.  Most artisans left, but me, I’m glutton for punishment; I stayed until I could not stay anymore.  In spite of the forecast few devoted show goers did come out to shop, however, it was very slow going.
